Hiring Process

Staff Qualifications


Greenleaf Home Cares expects nothing less than excellence from our caregivers. Our staff of Registered Nurses, Home Health Aides, and Certified Nurse Assistants are carefully screened. Each staff completes a comprehensive application which includes employment history, competency and skills assessments, criminal history, and child abuse history. When complete, every staff is interviewed by a Nursing Supervisor.

Finally, all staff are evaluated annually by the Nursing Supervisor to ensure that we are providing you with relevant and updated services.

Recruiting


Greenleaf Homecares runs advertisements on Google and several local newspapers. We also encourage our nursing staff to recruit via referrals.

The first step to be considered for hire is to fax your resume to (215) 744-2329 or e-mail at admin@greenleafhomecares.com. You can also send your resume by entering your information at the end of this page under We're Hiring and expect a call within two business days. 

Interview

  

During the interview, the prospective employee will:

  1. Complete an application.
  2. Successfully complete a Greenleaf Homecares assessment and skills checklist.
  3. Meet with either the Nursing Supervisor or the Administrator. Applicable Greenleaf Homecares policies are reviewed. Education level, work experience are discussed in detail.
  4. Submit all documents needed for a complete nursing personnel file.



Employee File Requirements: Please provide the following information to the Nursing Supervisor after you have completed your application.

  1. Photo I.D.
  2. Social Security Card or other proof of citizenship
  3. Child Abuse Clearance
  4. FBI Clearance (when applying register under Education and Department of Public Welfare)
  5. Automobile Insurance
  6. Hepatitis - B Vaccine Acknowledgement Form
  7. CPR Card
  8. Health Exam / PPD Result
  9. Home Health Aide or Certified Nurse Assistant certificate
  10. 2 professional references
  11. Application, Homecare assessment

Background Check


All applications are reviewed by the Administrator or Nursing Supervisor. If the applicant is hired, the following steps are taken before assignment to a client:

  1. A personnel file must be completed.
  2. All professional licenses are authenticated with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
  3. Criminal History and Child Abuse History is due at the time of hire and must be updated every two years.
  4. FBI clearance is due at the time of hire.
  5. Orientation.
  6. A personalized orientation to a client's care is scheduled and completed at the client's home.

Annual Evaluation


All employees are evaluated annually for the following:

  1. Up-to-date personnel files
  2. Current professional license
  3. Frequency of absenteeism and lateness
  4. Skills Competency
  5. Patient and/or family comments
  6. Interaction with office personnel
  7. Completion of Inservice and continuing education requirements
  8. Feedback from field supervisors
